Allison, I want to thank you so much for putting up such great videos on violins. Truly impressive. Is there anything you haven’t thought of? You even have reviews on different kinds of strings, how to change violin positions, etc. You read my mind. I was wondering…..have you ever worked with anyone that has minor neck and shoulder problems? Is it feasible to try to play the violin? Almost two years ago I tore one of the tendons in my left shoulder, and had a disk touching my spinal cord in my neck. They are both supposedly healed. Then I had an car accident (I was a passenger) four months later. Lucky me. I would appreciate your answer. Thanks.

Share The Music says:

you will be lucky if that violin or case last your students longer than a year…. I’ve seen these total pieces of crap in person and its appalling to even see someone review it. Stick with a Strobel!

Berts Funhouse says:

Great sounding violin!!

Steven Evans says:

I’m getting this violin in March. 🙁 I hate I have to wait so long but I’m a newbie and I should be happy with this violin.

brandon tang says:

Can you do review of the coven 800 against your own German baroque violin so we can see the difference to a professional violin

happystar1000 says:

I like Violin music 🙂  but i really subscribe becuz i think u are so very beautiful and i want to marry you!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hayden Elrafei says:

And last question: have you experienced the Kaplan non-whistling E? The dominant E whistles a lot.

Hamed Akrami says:

Hi Allison! I was wondering why your violin had only 1 fine tuner, but why the violins on Amazon has 4? I’m planning on buying one, and this would definitely help. Thank you!

maryam medhat says:

melyaro says:

Thank you so much for your helpful reviews!  I got my CVN-700 yesterday and I’m wondering if I should take it to a luthier right away for a sound post adjustment or should I play it as is for awhile to wear it in then get the adjustment after the instrument has opened up?

Joshua Mari De Ocampo says:

This violin is very beautiful 🙂 The sound is mesmerizing

Paul Davis says:

I bought this violin to learn bluegrass on. The fiddle player in our group wasn’t impressed with it. I took it to the Loft violin shop in Columbus Ohio for a setup. The dude thought it was a $89 violin and that putting a bunch of money in it would be a waste. He compared it to putting ferrari tires on a Pinto. The tuning pegs need fit properly, the tail piece he said is junk mainly because of the turners. The nut is height and needs re cut. the bridge is high as well and new strings. $180.00

jaktheknife says:

starting to sound half decent perhaps with quality strings it can improve more but imho these cecilios all have a this tinny toppy sound to them and they lack bottom undertones they lack “humph”. In fact I’m thinking of selling my cvn 400 because it is the least of my favorites compared to my chinese strads it just lacks warmth and character and it has an almost factory made feel the Ceci does. This one, it sounds ok and it well should I mean come on! : ) for that price but still I fear this none will still lack some character I mean mass produced violins what do you expect reahhlly.

Paul Davies says:

beware if u buy from kkmusic (usa) and have delivery to UK border control and customs will hold your item until their fees are met £100.
hope kkmusic refunds me once returned.

Diego Perez says:

I really want to upgrade to this but I only have $200 which makes me sad and frustrated as I spent money pretty stupidly a couple months back and I really regret it now that I want this violin and nothing less as I am a relatively advanced player. in comparison to all of my fellow violinists I completely surpass them and we are all in the best orchestra in my school so yea…

Sencat says:

Can you please research into the “Inova V80 Violin” ? Its price is $1200 — And it is made to represent the legendary Stradivarius. Please look in to it, I am honestly thinking of buying it in the future. BenChan did a comparison of the V80 vs. his Stradivarius. I think it is a excellent violin. If anything I will go with one of the cecilos.

Josh Blythin-Evans says:

Hello! I’m looking to get a new full size violin and I’m doing my grade 4 exam next month. I was thinking of getting a new violin after my exam but would you recommend I get this violin or go for the cvn 500 or 600 instead.

Natalie Pereira-Zaldivar says:

would you leave the strings that come with this or would you change them?

asusr6 says:

followup to my previous comments on our flawed CVN 700: Received our replacement Cecilio CVN 700 Violin the next day from Amazon. The return/replacement process was easy. The replacement violin was FANTASTIC- the fingerboard is very nice on this violin. Just goes to show you that any company can have an inferior product make it past Quality Control. The one we have now if just beautiful. The flamed back is really striking.
My wife just loves it. Huge difference between the low end used starter violin we had and the Cecilio CVN700. Thank you for your review.

Biancaviolin says:

Such a nice violin,it looks lovely and will be perfect one played in! I need money! 🙁

Brassplyer says:

Does this have real purfling or pinstriping like the lower model Cecilio models?

Harry Potter says:

Do u think this will be good for someone who plays in an orchestra?

u/ st0zy says:

Would a Ceclio CVN 600 with a better bow and strings be better than the Cecilio CVN 700

asusr6 says:

We just purchased this violin through Amazon after watching your review. Received it today and the “ebony” fingerboard is more brown than black.Very streaky look. It had very poor workmanship if its even real ebony at all or just a stained wood.Very poor workmanship on an otherwise beautiful violin. Really detracts from the violin. Going to send it back to Amazon for a replacement. Wife was excited to receive it only to be disappointed in the fingerboard craftsmanship.

Keith Harrison says:

I am not quite sure how to thank you for freely giving of your time and talent to your great videos, that I am still working through in their entirety. You are greatly appreciated. I have purchased the CVN-700 and am confident it will last me for years to come. If I may pose a question: do you feel that the bows that come with the violin are fine for a beginner? I can imagine the wrong bow could stymie the learning process. Thank you, again!

Darian Burkhart says:

You said something about using peg drops, I do not recommend peg drops, because, when I used them, the made the pegs stick worse, and one of my pegs broke. I had to order in another peg that matched the others I had, so I would say you should use hill peg compound. THAT actually works, and does not make pegs break.

Emmi says:

Oh my… I’ve been watching this and have just fallen in love… The violin is stunningly beautiful. I was practically reaching through the screen to touch it

Joshua Mari De Ocampo says:

Are Cecilio violins hand carved?

Shari Zakrzewski says:

Looking to put a very sad sound of violin to lyrics I do t know anything could you help me? It’s a song that is close to my heart about the loss of my son

Arturo Vazquez says:

How does the Stentor II compare to the CVN and MV series? Where does it fall between or is it better overall than all of them?

Sew Sallysew says:

i love you reviews but i don’t like the music i prefer to just hear the review. But i love your videos..

Johnathan Houck says:

Hi! i saw there was only one fine-tuner, and i was wondering if it would be possible to add fine tuners for the rest of the strings in the violin? I’m asking because it is much easier (and i dont want to risk breaking my strings which did cost a few dozen dollars haha)

Coffeeborn says:

Good review! The back ground music is annoying and unnecessary.

Mystearicia says:

Which type would be recommended for beginners until intermediate? I’m thinking of buying one but I don’t want to buy another one after upgrading to intermediate……

ImmaPandaRawr says:

I wanted to make a song tutorial request on the violin! Misty Mountains from The Hobbit soundtrack. It would be amazing to see a detailed video on how to play it. 🙂

Eduardo Maciel Montes says:

Hi Alison…do you think there is a big diference in quality betwen the 800 compared to the 700 ??

Diego Perez says:

I really want to upgrade to this but I only have $200 which makes me sad and frustrated as I spent money pretty stupidly a couple months back and I really regret it now that I want this violin and nothing less as I am a relatively advanced player. in comparison to all of my fellow violinists I completely surpass them and we are all in the best orchestra in my school so yea…

Tabi ViolinPiano says:
