For those who might be wondering:

The CVN500 and MV500 are NOT comparable.
The MV range is a lower range than the CVN.
The CVN500 is far far better than the MV500.
Also this does NOT (in my opinion) compare to the Stentor II as the Stentor II is more on a par with the CVN300.

Hey i just started playing the violin, and right now i have a really cheap violin ( it’s impossible to tune it , it takes hours and it’s never completely how it should sound ) i’m planning on using it a little longer cause i’m still very bad at it , But i wanne buy a better one within a few months so that can practice more and have more result then i have now , does anyone has any advice on what i should buy ? i want it to be somehting that i can use for the next 2 to 3 years without switching to a new one , ( my budget is $220 maybe a little more of needed , )

Christopher Tsiliacos says:

+Alison I notice that you don’t use a shoulder rest when playing the violin, is this just a matter of preference? BTW: Pachelbel’s Canon in D has always been a favorite of mine on the violin. It just doesn’t have the same panache or verve when I play it on my trumpet.

fouty1 says:

whats your opinion of the 2 bows that come with the violin? im brand new and will take my first lesson next week. now im just sorta staring at it in the case.. hahaa..

myah cat says:

omg! i have this violin

aanyla says:

Your channel is so helpful!! Thank you for all your wonderful videos’!! ❤️

thisismefrance says:

which on do you prefer between this one and the stentor II? I don’t what to choose I want a better violin 🙂

Raymond Bourke says:

Is there are name for what was played at 1:38? Sounded lovely.

wh05herlock says:

How do you think this violin compares to the cremona sv-175? There is a video of someone playing it here: https://youtu.be/vByWxlKAj4k

Thanks 🙂

nahum 666 says:

Hi, I’ve been watching your videos and I was wondering which violin is better, the CVN-300 or the CVN-500 what are their main differences between them

Ali Raf says:

thank you for your helpful comments, between cvn 500 and stentor 1500, which one do you recommend?
thanks

Jinus Juaton says:

I’d like to ask, what was the second song that you played?

Jar Harr says:

I just ordered a CVN-500 4/4 thru Amazon.com (based upon your review) for my daughter (2nd year playing). As I know nothing about violins, what strings (key) do I need to purchase, and what are good strings for a beginner?

Catherine C says:

ty soooooo much our daughter joined violin club in her school at 5th grade. just ordered this because she loses it (violin class)and we wanted something nice enough to last a long time . we were crushed to find out learning violin is not an option in middle school in our entire county, but she may be able to bring and practice at school grade 6-8 so you are going to be our teacher as with her dads disability and no longer being able to work we cannot afford private lessons . ty soooo much.

ESTUDIANTE ANA MARIA JIMENEZ BENEDETTI says:

I have a question, could you advice me, please? I don’t understand the prices then, you say this violin is way better than mendini mv500 but the difference is just 20 dollars. I’m confused, I want to buy a violin but I prefer the look and the sound ( which I heard at your video) of the mendini mv500 but if the quality of this one is better… is there really a significant difference? I mean, this is just 20 dollars more expensive

wh05herlock says:

What’s the bow that comes with it like? Also what’s the rosin that comes with it like? Would you recommend buying some better quality rosin for when you first rosin the bow?

Thanks 🙂

drew1095hc says:

thank you very much. I think I’ve decided I’m going to go with the CVN 700.

violin lover says:

which do you think is better for someone that’s been playing for 5 months the stentor 2 or the CVN 500?

Chris Toogood says:

I think I will purchase one of these soon. I’ve played guitar for almost four years but am getting bored and want to try something new. Always loved the sound of violin.

Jinus Juaton says:

Do you reccomend buying a kennedy violin?

Lewis Mcintyre says:

Are there any good uk vendors for Cecilio stuff? Can only seem to find things in America which comes with big shipping costs.

Violin94 Price says:

how much of a difference between cvn 200 and 500

drew1095hc says:

which would you prefer? mv500 with dominant strings or cvn500? tia

Doc Tweedie says:

I am guitar player i own quite a bit of guitars. I always wanted to play violin. The only reason i played guitar ws because my brother let me play his. So i bought more. I want to learn to play the violin and piano.

samet polat says:

Are you sure that they use original strings?Because its cheap.

iamxeracon says:

What’s your opinion on the D Z Strad Violin Model 100? It’s one of my considerations for a starter violin.

Nerea Belategui says:

Hello,

Thank you so much for all the review videos. I’ve seen a lot of them :D. However, now I’m
a little bit confused. What do you think is better for a level between student and intermediate? ( It is for an upgrade of the violin) A stentor 2 or a CVN-500? Have you ever test Cremona or Primavera violins? Do you think they are suitable too?
Thank you so much!

TheMons26 says:

I am looking to spend between $300 and $600 for my first violin. I am an absolute beginner but I want to purchase something that will make it easier on myself and take me on for a while. What is your recommendation in that range? I am happy to purchase new upgraded strings as well, so that is not a deciding factor for me. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos. What a fantastic resource.

shhh silents says:

HELP PLEASE!
im looking to buy a violin . It well be my first violin me and my mom, want a quality violin. The budget is around 60-140$ but we”ll go a bit higher if we must.
I will be playing it at home and school alot. Does anyone have any recommendations.

Lemon Bread says:

Hello Allison! I’ve been playing the violin for 2-3 years but stopped classes after the 2nd year and started self teaching recently. So far i’ve noticed that the cheap unbranded violin i started off with isn’t making pieces like Canon give a nice tone. I’m intermediate now and i was thinking of purchasing either the Stentor II or a Cecilio violin. I like more of the warmer sounds than deep, which do you recommend?

rahul rawat says:

I apologise if this seems a little annoying but can someone point me to a store where I can buy this in UK. Amazon doesn’t have one and from what I gather, this is considerably better than Stentor 2 and costs the same.

Enrico Benitez says:

What is a satin finish?

Sakura Yukimura says:

Alison, if i may ask, Is cecilio violins are for orchestras?

Fayee 16 says:

The violin in this video looks different to the pics on amazon …

Deepika Prasad says:

Hi,
Your videos have been really informative! And I must say it has got me started on my interest in playing the Violin.
I wanted your opinion on the MV500 and CVN500. Which do you think would be a better choice? I’m definitely short of money. I’m an absolute beginner! If you have any other advice to give me, please do!

KPOP RUINED MY LIFEU says:

Which one sounds richer the MV500 or the CVN500?

Nicole says:

Alison do you know why the price of this violin is double on the cecilio website as opposed to on amazon?

Dave says:

I just bought this as my first violin. I’m a complete newbie but I feel the angle of the bridge is too flat, I took it to a luthier to tune it up for me for the first time as I also broke one string, and he told me the same.

Vanessa Aguilar says:

what strings would you recommend for this violin

Castiel W says:

Really sorry for all of the questions but, I bought this and I’m really happy with it. Later down the road when I need something better, would the Stentor 2 be a downgrade? or would it be an upgrade but still lower than what I would need? By the way Thank you for taking time to respond to these it’s really appreciated.
