How much is this horn being sold for?
That is a gorgeous horn. Flumpets are always fun to play.
A couple things though. The biggest one is that a flumpet, even in gold plating with ornate finger buttons and a case is not sold new for $20,000. It would be a good bit less than that.
The mouthpieces- FL6 94 5 (without looking at the numbers) means flumpet cup with a 6 rim (approx 3C rim diamter) 94 backbore and a 5 throat.
FL 2 94 5 means flumpet cup with a 2 rim (approx 1 1/4C rim diamter) again with a 94 backbore and a 5 throat. Which is close to the standard I think with flumpet mouthpieces.
Nice sounding horn. Wasn’t the Flumpet designed for Art Farmer? I know it was hism feature horn after playing flugelhorn for many years.
Great sound! I dream of such an instrument, I hope someday to buy this! Thank you for the show!
