Chinese-made D/E-Flat Trumpet Review

Considering that this is an instrument that was mass-produced in a factory halfway across the world, this is quite the trumpet. It is amazingly fun to play and works very well. By now, I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and I love it.

It’s possible that they felt that the brace on the Eb slide wasn’t particularly helpful – it isn’t always. Having worked with a custom maker on a horn design and playing the exact same instrument and slide with and without the bracing, I can say that the difference is noticeable in feel, and can have minor (and not so minor) effects on tuning, too – though I doubt whether much testing or R+D went into this, I wouldn’t know…
I would think it’s more likely this horn is simply a copy of an existing design, built to a budget – but if it plays well enough for what you wanted, that’s the main thing.
