Welcome to the club Paul.
I have played the solid silver soprano for 20 years, the silver/brass alto for 15 and just bought the bronze Elite unlacquered tenor.
I waited on the tenor until the they came up with this horn which delivers the sound i like on tenor. I am happy to hear that you acknowledge
these wonderful horns! But it is important to get them from the factory new. Not a horn that has been tried by other people and shipped around
the country several times. This happened to a friend of mine in the US and he was totally disappointed. I told him to check the history of the horn. It had been sent around to 5 different stores in the states as a demo and not kept clean and treated properly.
I love these horns and i have played everything out there. They really give me freedom.
Paul, would you be so nice to share the mouthpiece setup you used on each horn? I had the chance to visit the yanagisawa demo center in Tokyo a few years ago, their sopranos were incredibly easy to play in tune. Very enjoyable instruments.
What a great review man, I too have been so stuck on name brands that other artists, teachers in the past played like the Selmers and I have been a Selmer player for many years, several Mark VIs 5 digits,6 digits, etc. I finally bough an Yani alto AW010 and can’t wait to try it, I was trying to decide on the AW020 or AW010 and went with the w010, hope I made the right choice, cheers
