Lucas Levon says:

Is this new? I’m wondering how it compares to the YDP 181

Benjamin Smith says:

Thanks. I’ve been waiting for a demo of this instrument. I’d actually like to hear it more. The thing with this instrument that is important to know is, this is a Clavinova CLP635 without the Bosendorfer voice, a few other piano voices like upright piano, some clips on the stand and the Yamaha lettering appears differently. Also, it has GHS vs. the CLP635’s GH3X and it also lacks the CLP’s binaural speaker feature. Otherwise, it’s a CLP635, that’s $700 less because of these omissions. Same case, same speakers, same power, even a very similar side menu. It has piano room, VRM, features no other Arius has had before this one. You play really well, so would have loved to just hear you speak, then play, then speak, and so forth as the sound of the piano is what’s needed to be heard. Because it sounds like a Clavinova now and, I think, is the better choice for the money than the Clavinova CLP625 that lacks VRM or the side menu and has weaker speakers.
