The Q2U is a dynamic microphone which is ideal for podcasters and broadcasters because dynamics do a good job of rejecting ambient room noise.

The Q2U can connect via USB to your Mac or PC or to an iOS device such as your iPhone or iPad via USB3 to Lightning Camera Connector Kit.

You can also connect via XLR cables to an audio interface or mixer.

Headphone output with volume control at the base of the Q2U.

The Samson Q2U Recording and podcasting comes with a mic clip, desktop tripod stand with an extension piece, windscreen, XLR cable and USB cable.

This entire video was recorded using the Samson Q2U into the Zoom H6.

Accessories I recommend to replace the included tripod, etc.

You can also connect it to an iPhone if you get this cable that I make.

does it catch much background noise? I would like to up my microphone quality for streaming and producing, but have a noisy house and it would be great if it didn’t catch much in the background

A very comprehensive review of Samson Q2u. Well done. Keep up the good work. Watch this twice.

Dan Magoo says:

Nice review, Mike! One question please, and one tip: Do you find the Q2U any louder than the ATR2100? (I have the AT2005, which is said to sound similar to the ATR2100, and I find I have to really drive the preamp hard to use it in Windows.) The tip, respectfully: Please don’t put music behind a mic demo. Thanks!

How are these microphones powered?

Vittorio Victoriño says:

Gracias, este video me sirve para elegir el micrófono que estamos cotizando, estamos entre este micrófono y el Samson C01u, y me da la impresión que este es muy bueno para el precio que tiene.

Good job Mike! Very informative.

quick question: when you plug in the xlr cable and the mic is on, does the light turn green? or is that only for usb?
