Korg Miku Pedal – the funniest pedal review ever!!

Rob & the Captain struggle to hold it together through this review of the weirdest pedal ever. We apologise if any of our banter offends anyone – you know we love everyone & everything & we’re just having a bit of fun!!

And if we haven’t completely put you off of buying this pedal then you can do so by going here – http://www.andertons.co.uk/compact-pedals/pid35739/cid692/korg-miku-vocaloid-stomp-guitar-pedal.asp

Cheers

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about Hatsune Miku.
People think she was meant to be an artist, that she’s made by a big evil corporation just to make money, etc.

soooo…

Hatsune Miku is a voice library that was made for the vocal synthesis software “Vocaloid” by Yamaha.
She was the promotional character/mascot of that library, kind of like a Kontakt choir library that would be named for example “Claire soprano vocals” and would feature a woman on the box (supposedly Claire)
The library could be used by artists for their music, whether it’s a release or a demo, without even mentioning the name.
But some people decided to use it and make music as “Hatsune Miku”, turning her into an artist.
Eventually a lot of people started to do it, and Piapro (the company that made the library) started to acknowledge that music.
Now there are partnerships, artists have compilations albums with their music in them, and it is also featured in games (the “Project Diva” series, great rhythm games, really fun to play)
Basically, the music that you hear from “Hatsune Miku” is actually made with love by dozens of really amazing artists, and not by a mega Japanese corporation that wants to replace humans.
You can listen to some songs, and you’ll hear really great compositions, some of the best instrumental parts I’ve heard actually come from Vocaloid music (which goes far beyond Miku, but I’ll let you Google that if you’re interested)

So, I hope this post was useful to some people and cleared things up a little bit.
(and sorry for any mistake, english isn’t my native language)

Also, here are some of my favorite tracks in a variety of genres:

Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! (Miku – commony know as the “nyan cat” song) (I don’t really like it though, just wanted to add that as trivia :p)
Pinky Swear (Miku – a jazzy song, really nice one)
Raspberry Monster (Miku – a high energy rock song)
Two Breaths Walking (Miku – a more classic pop rock song)
Dear (Miku – a melancholic and chill pop rock song)
Sound (Miku – also pop rock)
Senbonzakura (Miku – a traditional (?) Japanese song, this version is catchy with a nice piano solo)
Envy Cat Walk (Miku – a frantic song, I won’t try to fit it into a genre, but it’s really cool and groovy)
Two Faced Lovers (Miku – electronic, really catchy)
Freely Tomorrow (Miku – reminds me of late 90’s to early 2000 pop/RnB)
Solitary Hide and Seek Envy (Miku – chill pop song with a nice atmosphere)
Meteor (Miku – amazing song with piano and synths and stuff)
Sweet Devil (Miku – Really catchy electronic pop song)
Love Trial (Miku – I don’t know the genre, sounds a little bit latin to me. nice song)
God Only Knows (IA – metal, really cool song)
Break it, Break it (Meiko – a funk/pop/rock heavy song, really cool one)
Nostalogic (Meiko – Nice pop song)
Blackjack (Luka – catchy tune)
Lost One’s Weeping (Rin – High energy rock song)
Tengaku (Rin – Metal, high energy)
Tokyo Teddy Bear (Rin – Heavy, fast-paced rock song)

And there are A LOT of others, can’t put them all here !
