In this video I am demonstrating the Pearl Inner Circle Multi Drum Cajon. This is one versatile Cajon that, because of its innovative design, gives you three different ways of playing the drum along with some great sounds.

Most Cajons are rectangular in shape but what makes this cajon unique is its round shape. It is a fiberglass shell done in a very pretty Tequila Sunrise finish and the drum comes in a square box that allows you to sit down and play it like a normal Cajon drum. It has snare wires attached underneath the Asiatic hardwood faceplate for a nice snare-like snap and the back end of the drum has a bass port so there is plenty of low end to get you a big boomy sound.

The versatility of this drum comes from the fact that you can take the drum out of its box by the use of two easy to use latches. You can then latch the box back together, sit down, put the drum between your legs, and play it like a conga. It is comfortable to play the drum in this configuration and there is still that big sound. Another way to play the drum is to attach the included strap and put the drum over your shoulders like a Djembe. This was also a comfortable position and it made it super fun to be able to stand up and jam.

There are many Cajons out there but this Pearl Inner Circle Multi Drum Cajon gives you multiple ways to play, big sounds to be heard, and a lot of fun to be had!

It seems to me the bass tones have too much of the snare wire sound.

SomeRandomMario says:

how do you tune it…?

Juan-Carlos Carpio says:

For my taste it lacks bass, and the overall sound is not much of a cajón per se.

Horacio Gianello says:

¡IF YOU WANT MORE BASS & SOUND PROJECTION, PLACE A PLASTIC TUBE ON THE BOTTOM HOLE (“GON- BOPS”). A RESONATOR ACOUSTIC CHAMBER!!!

netenemy says:

Nick does the best drum/percussion demos.

Ben says:

This sounds good because the player is good, the actual drum sounds pretty bad.

Very cool! Hey, I think it would be really helpful to mention the recording chain in the show more description. What mic, preamp, DAW etc. 🙂
