Selmer EEb Contra Alto (Eb Contrabass) Rosewood Clarinet Review

There’s a fine line between collector and hoarder, and I crossed it a mile ago…

In this video I demonstrate and review my Selmer Paris Rosewood Contra Alto clarinet. This instrument has not been overhauled yet but It does play (kinda).

Oh God the bottom of the bell…

The patina is gorgeous with the rosewood.

I hope I can score one of these at some point. I’m not great at clarinet repair so I’ll have to spend a bit more, but I love the big clarinets.

Carsum Blastes says:

I play on the same contra and love it, the one I use is missing all the same things as yours except the left pinky C key. It’s got the original peg as well, but it also has the original pads, corks, everything. The fact that it’s a school horn doesn’t help either. Glad to see another video on these great instruments.
