Fodera Emperor Standard Special Bass Review

When you need a boutique bass with unrivaled performance, you just can’t beat Fodera’s Emperor 5 Standard Special 5-string. This peerless axe delivers the tone, playability, and visuals that have made owning a Fodera a goal of the world’s top bass players, but at a fraction of the cost of a custom model. At the same time, the hand-selected ash body, breathtaking redwood pinburl top, 3-piece hard rock maple neck, and compound-radius ebony fingerboard are the same ones you’d find on a custom model, and this bass was built by the same luthiers who produce Fodera’s top-of-the-line models.

Much like the other Fodera vídeo, this is not a review. This is just an opinion piece on why you should somehow fork that much money for a bass that might not even be what you’re looking for in the first place.

I’m pretty sure you could probably eq the bass past that nasal mid-range all Fodera models seem to have but, I’m yet to see any Fodera player do that, despite the apparently wide tonal options the active circuit possesses.

If I was looking to replace my Alembic this might be the bass. I like the way you show how to use the different tones controls and what they control Kevin. Really like you slap technique. Do you know what strings she has on her? thanks again.
